About the Artist
Lara Virosa is an artist and performer based out of Washington, D.C. At 15 she began working in sales for a sword swallower and has been hooked on the “carnie” life ever since. Lara excels at breezing between worlds; transitioning from fringe to conventional with ease. This interest in duality can be seen in much of her work.
Beginning with her first love of singing, Lara has been dabbling in various performance arts for over 20 years. She has explored many mediums including special effects & production makeup, aerial arts, juggling, and most recently: burlesque. Her goal is to continue growing as a multi-faceted artist by following her mercurial urge to dive into new methods of creation.
Professionally, Lara splits her time between working as a full-time Dominatrix and running a holistic wellness business – both with a focus on the client working to achieve higher self-actualization. She feels that this work has brought more authenticity and flair into all areas of her life.
“My mission for my work is to bring people out of their comfort zone, make them really consider alternate viewpoints and explore the juxtapositions that exist all around us – including what that means for our psyche and our society.”
